 Founding member of the Turtle Island String Quartet. A first-rate violinist, David's playing skills are exceeded only by his skills as a composer and arranger, which garnered him a Grammy nomination for his arrangement of "A Night in Tunisia" for TISQ's first record. In addition to his TISQ work, he's collaborated with folks like the Modern Jazz Quartet and Manhattan Transfer, and has received a variety of composing grants. He's a regular instructor at the Stanford Jazz Workshop, and has rejoined TISQ after a two-album hiatus.
