An interesting combination of blues and jazz, this Billy Bang. I have A Tribute to Stuff Smith, which is appropriately focused on swing. But Bang manages to evoke Smith's style while at the same time bringing it into the modern jazz era. More free tonality and rhythm, but not so much that Smith would be offended. Bang was also one of the founding members of the String Trio of New York.
