 Quite an enjoyable jazz player, he's one of my current favorites among "straight jazz" stylists. One of the interesting things about his style is the degree to which he mimics a number of saxaphone licks, but with some interesting adaptations for violin. Not so "out there" as someone like Leroy Jenkins, nor so produced as Jean-Luc Ponty, Blake is an accessible yet rewarding player in the traditional American jazz style.
