Blake picQuite an enjoyable jazz player, he's one of my current favorites among "straight jazz" stylists. One of the interesting things about his style is the degree to which he mimics a number of saxaphone licks, but with some interesting adaptations for violin. Not so "out there" as someone like Leroy Jenkins, nor so produced as Jean-Luc Ponty, Blake is an accessible yet rewarding player in the traditional American jazz style.
