Cross picBorn: April 23, 1949.

A member of the legendary 1972-74 progressive rock group KING CRIMSON, David Cross is one of the great pioneers of the electric violin. The album "Larks' Tongues in Aspic" features Cross in reflective neo-classical mode (the Intermezzo from LTIA part 1) and in much a wilder modal wailing style (The Talking Drum).

David Cross has followed a unique path through music, dance and theatre which has often taken his music beyond the media event horizon. Much music from this 'hidden' period has never been released and recordings only began to re-emerge in the mid eighties with releases under the RADIUS banner (Progressive Electronica) and his own DAVID CROSS BAND (Progressive Rock)

In the early days Cross used Barcus Berry pickups on a variety of customised violins, but since the eighties has used Zeta violins and a custom built violin by David Wilde of London .

The latest David Cross album 'Exiles' contains some of his finest rock solos. For biographies, photos, mp3s and Real Audio extracts go to the David Cross and Noisy Records site.
