 Daemyon is the only violinist I know of other than Regina Carter who works with R&B and soul styles. Unlike Carter, Daemyon's style is fairly unaggressive and doesn't take much in the way of risks. He'll appeal to folks in much the same way many folks on the GRP label (on which Daemyon released his first solo album) do: as a kind of jazz "lite" that has enough skill to be interesting, but not so much as to challenge the ear. He has only one solo album out at the moment, and I would only recommend it to folks looking for light background music that happens to use a violin rather than a voice or saxophone.
