 Jerry Goodman was probably the only other fusion violinist besides Ponty that I listened to while growing up. I'm sorry to say I missed his work with the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and only recently started picking up those albums. (Interestingly, he was succeeded in Mahavishnu by Ponty.) His Private Music albums are cool, and now he's part of the Dixie Dregs, so we'll hopefully be seeing more of him.Here's a sample from his album "On the Future of Aviation":
