Jeff and John The Guarneri Underground is unique among current jazz/world/fusion ensembles in that it features two electric violinists: myself and Jeff Sick. And because we're both playing 6-string violins, we can play into the viola and cello range as well, creating rhythms and basslines simultaneously with the melody.

We've released three albums, "New World," "Bootleg," and "Captive," and have a web site devoted to the group:

But that's only the beginning. I'm also afflicted with the multi-instrumentalist bug, and play bouzouki, saz, guitar, tabla, congas, ashiko, frame drums, udu, dumbek, zarb, cedar flute, dovyanka, piano, and just about anything else I can get my hands on. I've released a solo album, "Minor Arcana," which you can hear on this page.

Put it all together and you have a mix of jazz, rock, funk, blues, new age, and world music that's as fun to play as it is to listen to.

Here are some sample clips from New World (the web site mentioned above has clips from the whole album):

Darwin
Box of Marbles
Farewell to Inwood

Baglama
