Wow. This lady's a seriously hot violinist. Her first album was entirely Irish music (although with enough of a swing to keep it fresh), and her latest album (Wild Blue) is still very grounded in that tradition. But Eileen pushes the envelope, with marvelous results. Her technique is clean and clear, and her ability to move from jig and airs to gritty blues makes Wild Blue a great album to listen to. Buy Wild Blue. Buy it now.
The blue violin you see on the cover of Wild Blue is a Barcus-Berry. Evidently she's had it for over ten years, and is now having Zeta build her a fiddle based on the Barcus-Berry.
Here're some samples from Wild Blue:
Blue Groove (.AIFF format, 396K, 32 second clip) On this track she's using a wah pedal.
